Good, Free Software Training Resources

I came across a resource on the web that I thought was well worth sharing: DevelopPHP.com, a site created by Adam Khoury as part of his educational courses and applications. You can go to FlashBuilder.com for more information about Adam and his sites, or straight to DevelopPHP.com.

Once you check out DevelopPHP.com, you may find yourself returning over and over again. There are programming and application courses, free source files to go with the courses, and lots of information. Here's a few of the items that you might find interesting, taken from the list on the site's left-hand nav bar:

PROGRAMMING COURSES

  • HTML Course
  • CSS Course
  • PHP Course
  • MySQLi Course
  • ActionScript 3 Course

VIDEO TUTORIALS & APPS

  • PHP and MySQL
  • Adobe Flash
  • Adobe Fireworks
  • Adobe Dreamweaver
  • Adobe After Effects
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe AIR
  • 3D Model Design
  • Video/Audio Production
  • Visual Basic
  • Miscellaneous Tips

I've run through a few of the Flash video courses so far, and found them quite useful. I'm sure anyone looking to learn a bit more about any of the topics listed above will, too.

Give it a look, and share any feedback -- I'd love to hear from you. And if you leave them a message or contact, let 'em know how you found them.

Enjoy!

Developphp.com and Flashbuilding.com

I just want to say that I have been a member of developphp.com for over a year and the site is awesome. There are so many tutorials and they just keep coming. No matter what kind of web developer you are, chances are you'll find what you're looking for at developphp. There's even a huge section on how to build your own membership based site with forums and everything. It is indeed the only FREE worldwide webmaster training network! Special Thanks to Adam Khoury and all the members of developphp for making the site what it is...the ultimate learning center.

This sounds cool!

Free lessons? What could be better? Yeah, getting paid to learn... Good luck with that. lol A good place to learn website stuff used to be HTMLgoodies, but they have a lot of older material that is somewhat obsolete and it really only deals with HTML (Useful if you just want Blogging tricks for formatting - and almost too indepth for that). But it does give you ground up building blocks for learning starting with the basics leading up to the more complicated things you can use on a website.

I remember HTML Goodies.

Still reference it once in a while, too.

This thread would be a good spot for folks to list sites they've found useful, along with a brief blurb as to why/how they found the sites worth mentioning.
