Is Bush Conning Us Again

I just came on an informative web journal Black Agenda Report. This link will take you to their home page and an interesting analysis of the Save Darfur campaign. For a long while I have been suspicious of the "humanitarian" advertisements that show starving children and claim that modest contributions are crucial to saving their lives etc. Now Bruce Dixon, BAR's managing editor, asserts that the campaign is an opening wedge for another Bush Adminstration humitarian military intervention. A real eye opener. The link above takes you to their home page and his article, Ten Reasons Why "Save Darfur" is a PR Scam to Justify the Next US Oil and Resource Wars in Africa If humanitarian concerns were uppermost than why, Dixon asks, aren't the five-million dead in the Congo the focus of attention. A second article by Margaret Kimberley is also worth taking a look at. She deals with how tasers, which she calls a domestic torture device, are used on minor offenders, and cites instances of the way that Americans are being tasered for minor offenses at the pleasure of arresting officers.
