Not your father's GOP...

Now the GOP in Virginia wants votes to sign a promise to vote for who ever wins the state Primary. Even if you don't like the person or don't want the person in office, they want you to sign a promise to vote for the person. If I was still in the Republican Party, and I went in to vote and they pushed that on me, I'd tell them to fold it five ways and put it where the sun don't shine. What they are doing is playing on people's ignorance of their voting rights. They know that if they don't understand that they don't have to honor that "promise" they'll vote for who won the primary. Even if they don't support the person. That way, it will stop them from voting for the person or persons running against the Republican candidate. That means if their candidate runs as an independent, or a Green, or a Dem or what every, they'll be under the impression that they can't vote for anyone else. Now that isn't American and our Founding Father's wouldn't put up with that.

I hardly ever

vote a straight ticket. I am not letting any party dictate who I vote for in any election. It will be interesting to see how this strategy works for the Virginia GOP.

I agree ...

I want to be able to vote for whoever I want. Lately I am leaning toward exercising my right to not vote -- or write in "none of the above". ----- ePMedia ... get the scoop with us!
