Recent Deaths of Civilian Contractors in Iraq

Two Killed in Iraq Green Zone

The State Department confirms that two U.S. citizens have died in Iraq this week from indirect fire by rocket and mortar attacks in the Green Zone.

The first person, a contractor for the US Army, died on Monday, March 24, and this afternoon, we have confirmation that another U.S. citizen has died from the latest round of fire.

Other news reports indicate the civilian contractor was from South Africa. No names have yet been released.Earlier this week, remains of 3 bodies were found and 2 were identified as being those of 2 missing contractors, Joshua Munns and Paul Reuben.
