"Zeitgeist" the truth will set you free

In June 2007,not even a year ago, to the world was presented "Zeitgeist", an activist documentary film that left people in shock. Zeitgeist has changed opinions and beliefs of many bringing a strong statement that the truth is not told but it is realized, inspiring people to be more critical and find the truth for themselves.

This non-profit film can be viewed over the Internet only, on websites such as Google , Youtube and the official Zeitgeist website.It begins with telling that religion is a myth,9/11 was planned, it talks about the power of banking system, how U.S. government is keeping people uneducated and putting the same races against each other. Many still haven't seen this movie because we haven't heard anything about it on the media. For others it raises a question why isn't this film banned? Instead it is announced to be a winner of best feature documentary in Activist Film Festival in Hollywood CA. But how much truth there really is? Zeitgeist has affected many people, many believe easily while others tend to be more critical.

On March 15th the supporters of Zeitgeist celebrated Z-day when over 95,000 people in 70 different countries and 400different cities had a possibility to experience this film in their local theatres for those who do not have Internet access or want to see it together with the audience and observe how they're reacting to the film. Just in New York there were more than 10 locations you were able to attend.

Zeitgeist popularity is insanely big .I first heard about it from a friend in October, she gave me the link saying "dude you have to watch it, oh my God, we're so dumb! "Then later what amazed me was that my co-worker who lives on the other side of the city ,and a friend whom I haven't seen for 2years,both also already knew Zeitgeist . Now whenever I'm with the group of people I bring up Zeitgeist to the discussion ,and look for blogs where people share their opinions on this film. There are many different thoughts, criticism, anger, but we can truly say that Zeitgeist has an impact on all of those who have seen it.

It begins with George Carlin making fun of religion. Basically he is saying that people are dumb to believe in it, to believe that there is a man who lives in the cloud and watches what you do, and if you do something bad he'll send you to hell, but he loves you and he needs money.

Part one of the film is called "The Greatest Story Ever Told". They talk about history of religions, and how all of them are related to the sun, when at the beginning the sun was worshiped most of all, because nothing can survive without it.This film assumes that Christianity plagiarized from Egyptian religion.Their god Horus 3000 B.C. have shocking similarities with many other gods, such as being born at the same December 25th day, born of a virgin,buried for 3 days, resurrected. And they explain how everything relates to the sun.

They looked at the historians that lived at the same time as Jesus and none of them have written anything about him." You'd think such a person would've made it into history."

They continued saying that religion is a form of slavery, developed politically, takes billions of dollars from people, doesn't pay taxes and those who know the truth use the power to manipulate the society.

Now this is very hard to hear for those who are religious,and can bring a lot of anger.Some have said that this is the problem of the movie,that they begin with religion and many stop watching it not wanting to hear anymore.The very same friend who told me about this film was a very religious catholic,but after watching it she stopped believing in religion and in God completely.This shows how effective Zeitgeist is.

In part two of the movie,they talk about 9/11.That 9/11 was not accidental,it was planned.There were many people that say they heard an explosion in the basement before the attack of the plains.The buildings fell in the pancake theory,which they explain more in the film and say that plains couldn't have caused that.The fire fighters found molten metal that wasn't reported on the news.Zeitgeist says that there were devices planted in the building.

On 9/11 Dick Cheney was in charge of flight control "NORAD", George W. H. Bush met with Bin Laden's family, bin Laden was in America's hospital.Zeitgeist continues saying that there are no terrorist,Arabic guy living in the mountains couldn't finance all of this,CIA is behind it all and terrorism is just a word to scare us and make us believe and agree with anything.

The third and final part of the film is about the power of banks. The reason we get into war is because nothing is more beneficial for bankers than going to war. In WWII ,the attack of the Pearl Harbor was wanted. Australians tried to warn Roosevelt that Japanese are attacking but he ignored it.Before Pearl Harbor attack people didn't want to get involved,after the attack more than one million men volunteered. The same strategy was used with 9/11.People were mad and that is why they agreed to enter the war. The Vietnam war was never meant to be won,just sustained according to Zeitgeist.Also a very interesting fact Zeitgeist found was that our president Bush's grandfather was a director and a vice president of Union Banking Corp. in New York City.

In this film what horrified me the most was when they showed two English men dressed up as Arabs shooting everyone. And what Zeitgeist says is that they were trying to put same races against each other.Not enough that there's already fights going on against races,fights against the same races would destroy the trust and the peace that is left completely.If at the beginning people were to be able to stay away from other's bad influence,to stay unaffected with what perhaps they heard in the media and saw around them the race issue probably wouldn't be as big as it is.

I searched to find out what exactly happened on that day with the undercover British men. Dressed as Arabs,British men who were undercover soldiers shot local policemen. They were sent to Iraqi prison where more than 10 British tanks and helicopters broke down the walls of the jail in order to release the two special forces officers.Is that right?What gives the right for British army to act like that,why were they set free?By braking the jail many Iraqi prisoners escaped to freedom causing riots.According to David Cohen the reason they did that is because they had to keep these operations secret."Many terrorist acts in Iraq are in fact being initiated and carried out by US,British and Israeli forces."

Media has the biggest power to convince people that something is true.We keep on hearing the same stories over and over again and assume it's true,because not many of us want to do any extra research.Zeitgeist explains why education in the US is the lowest.It is because US government doesn't want us to be educated and get in the way of the important people.That's why there's so much entertainment nowadays,so that we wouldn't think and just stay entertained.

So how much truth is there?Is Zeitgeist telling us what we want to hear?But they don't back it up, they tells a story as if it was a fact,maybe it is maybe it is not,it would be more effective if they put a link that supported their ideas.However they said such an information wouldn't be possible to find just by searching on Google,it's a research done from various of documents over a year.

On zeitgeist movie review one of the very interesting comments was by filmmaker Sweeney. He says that many of techniques that they use to make the film are propaganda techniques.

Zeitgeist film is indeed very well made. At the beginning they show pictures of 9/11,Holocaust, bombed, starved children, people crying by the graves.Right a way catches your eyes and gives a sense of unfair feeling. Also throughout the movie they use different sound effects that makes "the truth" sound more powerful.

Zeitgeist is unforgettable. It makes you want to go march in Washington DC and tell everyone you know about this movie. Everyone should watch it and decide for themselves. It is really an effective movie. To do something or not is in the hands of the people. In a way this film really opens your eyes to be more aware of what's going on around you and be more suspicious . But as Elvis sang "We cant go on together with suspicious minds, and we can't build our dreams on suspicious minds".

Undercover British soldiers story
