Holier Than Thou Horowitz...Co-opting Aaron Barlow

promoted by roxy

It's kind of humorous... in article after article on the ePluribus Media Journal and in commentaries on this community, Aaron Barlow has been "battling" David Horowitz over Academic Freedom and Horowitz's faux concern over students rights.

Aaron's latest, Student Bill of Rights suggesting some compromises, was published this past Monday on the ePluribus Media Journal.

So Aaron's funny bone was mostly tickled to discover that Horowitz lifted Academic Freedom and Student Rights in Politicized Institutions in its almost full blown glory (with just a couple, telling omissions, but more about those later). Now, as with all journal pieces, the rights to reprint revert immediately to the author. Since Aaron is a proponent of Creative Commons, the lifting didn't bother him.

And indeed, Horowitz appropriately attributes Aaron and ePluribus in his FrontPageMag borrowing-- note the bottom of th graphic below, though, of course, FrontPageMag couldn't be bothered with a link to the original (the holy horowitz horrors of providing us with the traffic!).

As I mentioned, Aaron was not particularly upset to see the entire piece lifted, though he did find it funny to be listed as a Horowitz mag author! The good folks over at Free Exchange -- a site dedicated to questions of concern to collegiate educators -- have already noted and chimed in with their bemusement of the questionable practice of deeming Aaron as one of the Holy Horowitz FrontPageMag's own:Say it isn't so, Aaron! So not much needs to be added there.

However, about those omissions. Notice anything missing in Horowitz's steal (below) from the Journal's original?

Heh, heh... No ePluribus Media contributors are listed in the lift from the ePluribus Media Journal! Interesting that the crew at Holier than Thou Horowitz's FrontPageMag would so deliberately excise evidence of the collaborative nature of ePluribus Media volunteers.
