Are you as sick as I am of hearing the media say that white women won’t vote for Obama? Are you as sick as I am of hearing white women say that Palin is just an ordinary mother, just like them? Do you remember when white men were saying they could have a beer with George Bush? ENOUGH! Please join me in this effort to prove the media wrong! If I can drive around in the reddest county in Texas with this on my car, surely you can join me. If you are not a white woman, please feel free to edit appropriately. White Black Woman 4 Obama. Yesterday I saw a transcript of her ABC=TV interview where she apparently said she was prepared to go to war with Russia. Sooooooooooooooooo Here's and oldie but Goldie of one of Gov. I hope you won't mind that I sent this to our state Obama rep and to all our state party chairs, activists etc. This is brilliant! Thanks for sharing it. I loved hearing Isikoff on Olbermann say last night that he was watching the ABC Palin interview with some Republican friends and they just shook their heads and said something like "we can't do this--we can't go there" with her. Incompetancy and compulsive lying a problem for them?? It sure is for me. And let me just say once and for all that Palin IS NOT A REGULAR MOM! She is a ME FIRST mom running for a COUNTRY FIRST job. With Todd off playing with Popiell's Pocket Fisherman all the time he's not on the Northern Slope, the question remains :just who is raising those kids? No one has answered that one yet. They just scream SEXIST--you don't ask males that. Yeah well, males don't give birth, they don't breastfeed infants and until they do it is NOT a sexist question. And having 1 or 2 kids is WAAAAY different from having 5. Five is a career. The point must be made that she is CHOOSING to stay so busy that she is rarely home. Many(but not all) working moms would love to be home more with their kids but financial necessity compels them to work. Some just cannot stand the realities of childrearing so they go back to work and leave the dirty details to the paid childcare workers. Palin is compelled by her personal ambition and ego. There is a difference. It is not good but it IS an accepted more in our culture to accept that Dads are less involved( but not uninvolved) with active child rearing and more involved with breadwinning. The more I think of it the more I agree that we SHOULD be asking more male candidates how they plan to care for their families. But you go into the culture wars with the mores you have not the ones you wish you had.
