All the Sun That's Fit to Print

Kevin Bullis/TechReview: Efficient, Cheap Solar Cells:
A cheap new way to attach mirrors to silicon yields very efficient solar cells that don't cost much to manufacture. The technique could lead to solar panels that produce electricity for the average price of electricity in the United States.
While the world writhes in financial agony over the actions of .000000000001% of the planetary population, scientists are still working in their labs producing ever more efficient means of producing energy. This latest process and design pushes cheap PV to a possible 20% conversion efficiency. Sounds small, but compares with the highest output currently available. Tomorrow maybe we get to 40% and up. But first we need a resolution to the revolution. :: :: :: Image © Suniva
