Image Credit: Sally Wright/NREL :: :: :: NREL: "Limbo Lands" Could Be Revitalized with Renewables: More than 9,000 polluted parcels in 50 states known as "limbo lands" were analyzed and rated according to their potential to host wind and solar electricity facilities, or produce biofuels. Sometimes a great notion gets investigated. Nice work as usual. :: :: :: Note: This is lab is staffed with good people doing good work, whose funding was "accidentally cut", then restored in February '06. Nothing like a group at least as (if not more) qualified than most private sector labs to set a conservative's teeth on edge. Violates the prime directive: thou shalt not praise any living government employee for any reason, lest the entire privatization scheme suffer an untimely death.
