Opposing Retroactive Immunity for Wire Tapping

even though nearly everyone except his die hard dummies want him gone. But that won't happen for another 360 days, according to my Backwards Bush countdown clock. In those remaining days, we should expect him to do everything he can, whether the Constitution allows it not, to hide, cover up, delete, redact, obfuscate, misdirect, mislead or otherwise take his entire administration underground and off the public radar screen now and into the future. Poor Bill Clinton, as smart as he is, was forced by the Republicans who controlled Congress at the time to submit to questions under oath. Bush, Cheney and Rove vowed never to let that happen to them; and so far, they've successfully avoided any hand-on-Bible moments. Trying to achieve retroactive immunity at all costs to protect telecom companies who aided and abetted him with wire-tapping or to likewise immunize from US or Iraq law actions undertaken by private contractors, especially security guards, is job one for Bush and company. As beleaguered, distrusted and despised as he is for the lion's share of the nation, Big Brother Bush still holds the hill of power. We see this with the failure of the US House to override his veto of the children's health insurance plan, or in the capitulation by Congressional Democrats in negotiating the current stimulus package to not be able to extend unemployment benefits or dole out a few bucks to the growing ranks of those considered poor. FDR is rolling over in his grave because Democrats seem to fear fear itself. The fear they fear is their mistaken fear of how voters will react to the onslaught of Republican attack ads that will batter them on all fronts in the run for the White House when party standard bearers are finally chosen. The fear they should fear is the electoral blowback from voters who see them as weak-willed appeasers to the bully that is Bush. If it weren't for this misplaced fear, impeachment hearings would already be in progress, with the cheers of voters at their backs for finally having done what the Constitution calls for when presidents, vice presidents and their appointees lie, cheat and violate the law to start wars of choice not necessity. If what this administration has done doesn't rise to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors, then the impeachment clause is worthless and should be removed from our nation's founding document. If elected officials can't see this, then they should be unelected; replaced by those who can see it and arn't fearful of doing something about it. We owe it to those of us who are living through it and to future generations who need to know why its there and when to use it. So will Congressional Democrats stop Big Brother Bush's drive to escape office in January 2009 untouched and unblemished by having evaded being brought to justice? If the past is any indicator of the future, it appears Mr. Bush will have been able to be an ideologically rampaging bull in the world's china shop and not have to pay a penny for the destruction he caused while in office.

I signed the petition. I just sent in my phone bill payment to AT&T....and use this opportunity on a monthly basis to express my feelings to them. My brother who spent his whole life working for the phone company tells me no one cares there. No matter....at least the mailman knows how I feel!!!!!!!!!!!!
