Coincidences abound -- the solo walk in the woods, going missing, the involvement in the British and American Iraq intelligence work ... the suicides.
The report of Constable Michael Todd's apparent suicide set off, as Avahome would say, bells ringing in my head. Why did this narrative-line sound so familiar?
UK top cop who led CIA probe found dead: "A body thought to be that of Manchester Chief Constable Michael Todd, 50, was found dead in Snowdon where he was walking alone on his day off." Todd investigated the CIA extraordinary rendition flights -- reporting that Britain did not allow CIA flights to use British airports, a report recently found to be incorrect. (Michael Todd had been somewhat infamous before for allowing himself to be shot by a taser. Warning: somewhat unsettling video)
It was only a couple of years ago that another British arms investigator who was involved in the no-holds barred British and American intelligence operation also committed "suicide" during a solo walk in the woods. After I told her of my strange feeling about these two seemingly unrelated events, Avahome went digging and found the details. She discovered that Larisa Alexandrovna also had some of the same misgivings.
Okay...could be just Conspiracy Theory weekend, but does anyone care to speculate on what's going on here?

That's creepy
Too creepy. Right up there with small plane crashes and dead microbiologists.
Gotta agree, Susie
These aren't like your one missing, one dead, but there are some weird similiarities, you think?
Strange Coincidences
That's what I used to call things like this. Where two seemingly unrelated events, relate too much. In fact, I started to keep a list of them over at Salon but I think that discussion thread is long gone.
Kelly & Todd deaths -- both during a leisurely walk -- is definitely one I would have added to the list.
Larisa has some pretty good
comments on her article. The slooths are unleashed.....
Coming Down the Mountain...
The UK papers are surprisingly uniform in their coverage of this one. You'll notice same kind of format, same kind of pictures, same basic story line repeated and repeated.

The way they tell the story he could have been just another number in the Empire Club but seems to have been more of a free lancer.
I've not checked there for coverage about rendition and the CIA but it does not jump out of this. They do seem to be expediting the inquest.
