A Response to "Big Things" - The President's Campaign Fundraising Letter

I received an email from Barack Obama - well, his fundraising campaign - that cited "big things" as a subject and provided a link that had "begin_again" in the URL.

Nice.

I didn't bother to read it. I have little money to spare - none, actually. The economy sucks; the recovery is slow. Much of this is do to a dual circumstance: the backbone of the GOP's efforts to undermine recovery, and the almost complete and utter failure of the Democrats and the President to effectively push back and expose those efforts as the crappy, un-patriotic shite that it is.

I wrote a response instead, and posted it as a note on Facebook that I shared as a status. (You can find the status here with a link to the note.) Feel free to share it via Twitter and/or FB.

I'm reprinting it below the fold for those of you who'd rather not venture there, and to give everyone the opportunity to comment.

Have at it...

Recruiting Young Republicans and Off to the Sex Club...

There was quite a bit of talk yesterday concerning the RNC's interesting expense account... Obviously spending the money people donate to the Republican National Committee on a night out at an expensive Hollywood bondage and lesbian themed sex club was not exactly what the donors would hope for, never mind the $17,000 on private jets and the other booze as well...

But relax folks! It is just the good old fashioned way that Republican leadership wants to help raise your kids:

One California blog, Red County, reports that Brown isn't the staffer. Instead, they say, Brown paid the bill (and submitted it to the RNC as an expense) after a staffer's credit card was declined, according to anonymous sources.

The blog also reports that the excursion took place after a recruiting event for the RNC Young Eagles at the Beverly Hills hotel.

This makes it all OK, right? Right...

Michael Steele's Big Night Out

And you, dear Republican donors, get stuck with the bill!

"GOP Chairman Michael Steele spends $1,946.25 of RNC money at sex-themed Hollywood nightclub"

Not just any sex club but a bondage club that specializes in lesbian sex shows... That is where your hard earned dollars go to when you donate to Republicans. That or paying for limousines and gambling:

A Warning about Christian Ministry Giving

FlashPOINT is a new TV News Report program on WCNC 36 in Charlotte NC that airs on Sunday mornings carrying mostly local interest issues, but some having national implications, such as on the Banking and Investment corporations.

This morning they had a very good show about being careful who and what Christian Ministries you might give to.
