The scandal over the CIA torture tapes continues to spin. Over on DailyKos, several articles with good insights, particularly this one by gchaucer. Over here, clammyc's commentary and several by Jeff Huber lead the way, and emptywheel over at TheNextHurrah has some excellent stuff.

Here's a little more fuel for the fire -- an interview between an apparently defensive Bush and Matt Lauer.

Note how well Bush prevaricates, dissembles and obfuscates.

Just a little more after the jump.

Lou Dobbs speaks a variety of the English language known as lie-speak. I was pleased to see a favorite commentator Amy Goodman taking up the cudgels against him, in her piece Lou Dobbs Spreads Vile Misinformation about Immigrants.

Late last night, while reading the nightly DailyKos feature Top Comments, I learned that I made a right-wing (Reich-wing?) blog's "Top Worst Comments of 2007" list.

The announcement came from DailyKos, here:

Oh, and congratulations to Granny Doc, GrayHawk, Cenk Uygur, and other Kossacks for making the 2007 list of Worst of DKos Comments - driving the rightwing blogs batshit-crazy is something to be truly proud of!

The comment I made was this one:

4) "And anyone — Liebercrat or Republican — who stands to oppose impeachment, conviction and removal should be tried for their role as accomplice in the sedition and treason against the United States. No more should they be permitted to hide behind snivelling protocols and talk out both sides of their mouths — either they are with the nation, or they are part of the criminal conspiracy currently thwarting the will of both Congress and the People." — GreyHawk

And the diary? It was The Sins of the Fathers: Fascism, A Coup and Thou -- History, Repeated and Improved, which they kindly linked to.

They did me a favor -- they brought a very popular diary with oft-forgotten information about the Bush family legacy of crime, sedition and treason -- plus an old coup attempt against the government -- to the attention of all their fellow lunatics. :)

The diary in question was posted on ePluribus Media as The Bush Family Legacy: Improved Coup, Corruption and War Profiteering.

The following comment over in a thread on DailyKos caught my eye tonight:

He was in Kansas City tonight

Dick said:

"Not everyone understands the threat of nuclear proliferation, in Iran or elsewhere," Cheney told members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. "But we and our allies do understand the threat, and we have a duty to prevent it."

I'd just seen a press conference by Dick Cheney from August 26, 2002.
