ePluribus Media Tech Notes ... Upgrade Edition

Things are slowly coming back to life. Tho, it appears we may have lost the "user pictures in posts" that are uploaded into your profile. [apologies to ya'll for that]. We have added several new features ... if anybody is having problems with posting please leave a comment.

The Journal is still offline, as well as the timelines, investigates and our beloved old scoop, but these will also rise from the ashes slowly as we get all of the files transferred and the new data whatchamacallits back in place. - [update - roxy]

Well, I gotta say, this has been more fun than a barrel of monkeys.  But we are slowly coming back.

[sigh] We have been putting this off, but are to the point where we HAVE to do it.

What is "it"? Upgrade, update and move the ePluribus Media websites to a higher performance server environment, perform some necessary updates to the core software (drupal) and hopefully fix/enhance some of the site features.

In order to accomplish this, we will need to take the websites down.

The site will go offline on Friday May 22 at 6PM Hawaii time and will be back when the upgrades are complete.

Take the weekend off, go on a picnic ... ePluribus and all of the political turmoil will be here when you get back.

while you are doing this. Not trying to rub your nose in it because this sounds like a lot of work.

this will be fun.

Dear Roxy,

Why should I worry about my picture when I have so many other pretty pictures to look at like my icon boxes. For the non-cognescenti I've vamped up my color permissions which were otherwise for a reason unknown to me turned off on my IE. If you don't see your icon boxes anyone, just let me know.

I hope everyone else is having fon too. I now see some new goodies like font family and font size. Can't wait to play some more.

that went on behind the scenes and the amusement of the status page as it progressed :-)

It looks great and I'm enjoying the process of discovering 'new and different'.

Muchas gracias!

a problem.Innocent

I'm not sure if I know why though I think I may. I suggest you send an email to Roxy and copy to Grey Hawk and also try to get Roxy by the google chat thing. She is the best one to bring problems to.

via a bookmark in Explorer............ I got the JAQKAR Inc. page.

Just wondering if this is normal!!!!  I've gone ahead and saved/bookmarked the info I need to put up so that when Research comes back I can go ahead and add..........

Thanks for all your hard work!

Roxy got it over and updated; I added some new modules to it today.

Should be available shortly at http://research.epluribusmedia.net/ -- sometime later today (Tuesday), tho I have to verify that with Rox.
